Canada 3.0: What Will Canada’s Identity and
Place in the World Be in Our Third Iteration?

For Canada’s 160 (almost) years of existence as a nation, we spent 80 years as an adjunct of the British Empire and the next 80 years as an adjunct of the American Empire. That’s over. Now, for the first time, we face true independence, whether we like it or not. What will that mean for our identity and place in the world? In essence, what will Canada be as a nation, now that we are no longer the U.S.’s (occasionally rebellious) kid sibling/vassal? Twenty years from now, how will the world view Canada and Canadians? How will we view ourselves? Of course, all this will be affected by dramatic changes in the world at large. How will that affect our evolution in this third stage of our nationhood? This is what we'll discuss
