Quote by Edward Bernays in his 1928 book “Propaganda”. Not much has changed since then in intent, but much more powerful tools are now being used to get us to do the bidding of governments and corporations. We are being surveilled, prodded and manipulated almost 24/7. The combination of AI, social media and the “smart” phone is potentially destroying our personal agency.
Our course on Propaganda will look at its goals, its mechanics, how AI is changing it, and how we need to deal with it.
