Today the contract people thought they had with politicians, governments, institutions, & potentially each other is disintegrating. ‘What’s next’ could be an “Agreement of the People, Twenty-First Century” struck across countries through social media. Imagine the way it could frame the responsibilities of political leaders. Imagine the ways it could make for a more positive, focused political debate that will be led by new parties & new political blood. Imagine the way it could help structure principles that could guide how societies & governments approach indebtedness, human development, diplomacy, & the climate crisis.
Ordinary people today are angry at a world where there is little sense of fairness in social & economic affairs. Can we prevent this anger erupting into revolution & war?
Discussion Question: How could Canadians construct a tangible, constructive process to deal with our economic & political problems?
