canadian politics falls apart
COURSE FULL. TO GO ONTO THE WAITING LIST, PLEASE E-MAIL US AT [email protected]
We’re heading into a federal election with the weakest group of political leaders in memory. Trudeau took a large majority and relatively good economic times, and turned it into a dogfight for re-election. He has dithered, obfuscated and essentially lied his way into deep unpopularity. Scheer is a nebbish. Singh has not fired up his own party base never mind the broader electorate. With this uninspiring set of leaders Canada faces its biggest challenges since World War II – climate change threatens our future, and the Western liberal democratic order that is the basis of our safety and prosperity is crumbling. Whoever gets elected, will Canada muddle through as usual or are much more difficult times ahead?
