The Cooperative Movement - A Potential Game Changer?
Course full. to go on the waiting list. please click here

For most of the 20th Century working for someone else gave most people a reasonable chance at a decent living. Today profits have grown but worker earnings are stagnant at best. Could workers get together to buy out a business & run it themselves, sharing the risks & profits? Which business sectors are suitable? Could coops help reduce global inequality?

Should governments enable more workers to set up coops? Might coops increase access to needed goods & services, & increase jobs? Would coops increase local economic activity? Does business ‘efficiency’ tend to harm workers & consumers? What kind of coops has Canada recently developed? What about Toronto, could coops help us? Over 2 classes we’ll get each other’s reactions to global & local perspectives on these issues.
