Can Europe get its act together … and what will that “act” look like? That is the question that has been top of mind amongst the global intelligentsia for going on 5 years. But remember, as recently as 2008, Europe looked like the example to the rest of us of a post-nationalistic world.
How did it get unstuck, and is this condition only temporary? In reality, much of Europe is in excellent shape. On every measure you can name it offers the best quality of life, and creates more innovation than any other region, including the U.S. However, there are “issues”,as they say. This is the year it could be decided.
Several European countries are having elections that will likely shape the direction of the EU. Never before has the future of the EU and the political direction of Europe been as open.
The future of the EU may point to whether the world comes together or fragments, with potentially damaging consequences. In this course you will have the opportunity to discuss these question and more.
