There are several “frontier zones” where markedly different societies meet, and which are the political and possibly military flashpoints of our age. Russia and Europe, China and Japan, the struggle in Syria and Iraq, Christian and Muslim in Africa, India and Pakistan are examples of situations where societies with different values and historical enmities confront each other. We will explore what is behind these situations and others, the issues at stake, the potential outcomes and the implications for the world at large.
