Imagine if political dislocation, extremism, & volatility become the norm. If wealth inequality grows & if, for many, unfunded pensions turn retirement into purgatory.
This kind of nasty end to globalization has happened before. In 1913. It was followed by world war, depression, financial crashes, & political extremism. Although the probability of disasters of this magnitude is still low, very few consumers, investors, or politicians are attuned to the long-term implications of the changes facing the world.
